Great for any student who needs to work on their own pace, or who wants to jump over a number of levels, one-on-one sessions also come with customized homework assignments and learning materials.
- 12-Hour Intensive SAT Math Plan
Best For: It is for students scoring 650+ who need to push themselves toward the final score of 100-150 points.
Duration: 12 hours, spread across sessions as needed
Cost: $600.
The 12-hour intensive program is meant for students who have a fair SAT Math background but need guidance and help in some specific sections, these sessions are directed to bring up performance to the score range of 750+. All sessions in this program would be modeled after one-to-one sessions but targeting advanced topics and techniques to solve problems that push high scores.
During this program, students are given private advanced practice materials, SAT tests, and mock tests that simulate the actual test. Homework is also important during this period because it reinforces the advanced topics with consistent challenging practice to sharpen their skills. This program also contains periodic performance assessments, thereby enabling students to track their progress and specifically where they need to make improvements.
- Group Classes:
Students who have a starting score from 500-600, or who just prefer learning in class with fellow students. Number of hours: A total of 24 class hours to be taught in small groups of 6-8 to ensure focus.
Price: This course will amount to $495 total.
Group classes are best for those who want to connect and learn with similar minds. This doesn’t mean students won’t get individual attention. My group classes deliver individual attention along with group experience. Each batch includes students with the same entry score and understanding level; thus, everyone in a batch will progress in an easy, steady space and pace. There are three levels: beginner, intermediate, advanced. With this approach, therefore, each student shall enjoy the appropriate challenge that matches his level of comprehension within a consistent pace.
During these sessions, I teach them core concepts of SAT Math. I break out complicated topics such as algebra, geometry, and trigonometry into more easily digestible material. The first 15-20 minutes of every class are spent on conceptual clarity, followed by intense group practice where students do questions SAT style. I make sure every student understands the step-by-step processes involved in every type of problem, with constructive feedback throughout.
Group sessions are perfect for students who love the challenge of learning with friends as they make it really easier to have a questioning, problem-solving atmosphere. They really tend to push themselves, usually to be better and then share solutions with someone trying to solve the very same thing. I even pass out study materials as well as practice tests through homework assignments for each of their sessions to really just firm up what was learned in the class.
