Can you get a 1500 from the easier Module 2?

By Updated 1 September 2026

No. The easier second module carries a scaled ceiling of about 650 in Reading and Writing and 670 in Math, capping the total in the low 1300s even with every remaining question correct. Every score from 1400 upward requires routing into the harder Module 2 in both sections.

This is the single most consequential fact about digital SAT scoring, and it reframes what Module 1 is for. If your target is 1400 or above, Module 1 is not a warm-up section: it is the gate that decides whether your target is reachable at all that day.
