To be competitive you generally want to be at or above the 75th-percentile end of a school's published range, so roughly 1550+ for the most selective schools. Always check each school's own most recent data.
Treat the published range as a description of who got in, not a bar you clear. Roughly a quarter of admitted students sit below the bottom of it, almost always because something else in the file carried them. The number matters most when the rest of the application is unremarkable, and least when it is not.
