Common questions

How long is the digital SAT?

About 2 hours 14 minutes of testing: 64 minutes for Reading & Writing and 70 for Math, plus a break between the sections. 98 questions across four modules.

Is the digital SAT adaptive question by question?

No. It adapts by module. Your performance across the whole first module of a section decides whether the second module is the harder or easier version. Nothing you do inside a module changes the questions remaining in it.

How many official Bluebook practice tests are there?

Eight full-length SAT forms, numbered 4 through 11. Tests 1–3 were retired in February 2025. College Board’s “twelve practice tests” figure counts SAT and PSAT forms together, which is why the app shows eight.

Does a practice test score predict my real score?

Only if the practice was adaptive. A static PDF cannot route you into a second module, so it cannot reproduce the mechanism that sets your scaled score, which is why paper practice scores drift from real ones.
